Generator service plans · San Antonio and Bexar County

Your generator, ready before the lights go out.

Barajas Standby Power services the standby generators already on San Antonio properties: a yearly visit, a test with your house running on the generator, and a written report you keep. Spanish and English on every call.

  • A written report after every visit

Service plans

Three plans for the generator you already own

Pick the visits you want each year. The price is for the visits; parts and repairs are separate, and you approve them first.

  • Annual Service

    One full visit each spring.

    • Full generator service and inspection
    • Oil and filter change
    • Battery test
    • Transfer switch check
    • Written report with photos
    • A text before each visit
    Term:
    Billed once a year
  • Service + Load Test

    Includes the load test

The same visit, plus a test with your house running on the generator.

    • Full generator service and inspection
    • Oil and filter change
    • Battery test
    • Transfer switch check
    • Written report with photos
    • A text before each visit
    • Load test: the house on generator power

  • Priority

Two visits, spring and fall, a load test each time, and your repair calls go first on our list.

    • Full generator service and inspection
    • Oil and filter change
    • Battery test
    • Transfer switch check
    • Written report with photos
    • A text before each visit
    • Load test every visit
    • A second visit each fall
    • Priority on repair calls
    Term:
    Billed once a year

A plan is a service agreement, not insurance and not a warranty. Repairs, parts and fuel are not included. A plan renews each year on the day you start; text or call us before that day and we will not renew it.

This spring

Spring tune-ups run March 2 to May 29

A generator that sat all winter is easier to fix in April than in the middle of a summer outage. Pick your week now.

We post each season's dates here and text you the day before your visit.

  • Visits run Monday through Saturday

  • Plan members choose their week first

  • The text names who is coming and the arrival window

A service visit

What happens when we come

Six steps, in this order, every visit.

  • 01

    A text the day before

It names who is coming and the arrival window. Someone 18 or older should be home to let us in.

  • 02

    We look it over

The enclosure, wiring, fuel connections, vents and the space around the unit, with photos as we go.

  • 03

    Oil, filters and battery

Oil and filter, then the air filter and spark plugs when the maker's schedule says so, and a battery test.

  • 04

    The transfer switch

We open it, check the connections and make sure it moves the house to the generator and back.

  • 05

    Start it, run it

We start it, let it run and shut it down. On the load-test plans we switch the house over and watch it carry the load.

  • 06

    The written report

What we did, what we saw and what to watch, with photos. A repair is quoted before any work, and you say yes first.

From customers

What people say after a visit

“Brayan sent a photo at every step. The battery tested weak, so we replaced it in April instead of finding out during an outage.”

Guadalupe T.Annual Service

“I did not know our transfer switch had never been checked. They moved the whole house over to the generator, showed me, and left a written report.”

Sandeep K.Service + Load Test

“Blanca texts before every visit and again before the plan renews. I never have to remember a date.”

Questions

Questions we hear before a first visit

What does a service visit cover?

We inspect the unit, change the oil and filter, test the battery, check the transfer switch, run the generator and leave you a written report with photos. Load-test plans add a test with the house running on the generator.

What is a load test, and why bother?

We switch your house over to the generator and let it carry the real load for a while. A generator can start fine with nothing running and still struggle once the house is on it. The test shows you that before an outage does.

Is a plan the same as insurance or a warranty?

No. A plan pays for scheduled visits. It does not pay for parts or repairs, and it is not a warranty. If something needs fixing, we quote it and you decide.

What if my generator will not start during an outage?

Call or text us. We answer in our office hours only, and Priority plan calls go first on the repair list. We cannot promise an arrival time. If there is smoke or fire, call 911. For an outage itself, call your utility.

Are you licensed and insured, and how do I check?

Yes to both. Our Texas electrical contractor license number is in the footer of every page, and the state's license search shows its status. A certificate of insurance is yours on request.
